Erste Lage. Wines belonging to this VDP category are subject to even stricter criteria regarding origin and cultivation. As an example, Erste Lage Riesling and Burgundy grapes grow exclusively in officially registered, recognised high-quality sites in Godramstein such as Ochsenloch, Kalkgrube, Schneckenberg and Stahlbühl. Wines from the Erste Lage can be identified through an orange ring on the capsule. And these symbols on the label.
